FAQS

  • Where does Concrete Jack work?

Concrete Jack works in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia and West Virginia.

  • How much does concrete leveling cost?

Each job is different, but in general, leveling your existing concrete costs less than half of replacement.  Small jobs are frequently quoted on a lump-sum basis, larger lifting jobs are typically priced by the square foot, and void fillings jobs are usually priced by the quantity of material placed.  Polyurethane injection is measured by the pound, grout and cellular concrete are measured by the cubic yard.

  • How long does it take?

The size of the area being worked on is usually the biggest driver for the amount of time required to complete a job.  Most residential jobs can be completed in a few hours.

  • How long until we can use our concrete?

99% of the time, immediately after we’re done.  You may drive on areas treated with foam jacking immediately, slab jacking within an hour, and usually the next day for lightweight cellular concrete installations.  You can walk on repaired immediately afterwards no matter the process used.

  • Does it really work?

Yes; check out the pictures on the before & after pages and the testimonial page!  Concrete Jack’s skilled technicians have completed all kinds of complex projects, from stabilizing interstate highways to lifting railroad crossings, floors inside of homes and many other complex projects.  We successfully lift and stabilize thousands of square feet of concrete a week.

  • What is the most Concrete Jack has lifted concrete?

We have lifted pieces of concrete more than a foot.  We have filled voids as deep as 10 feet under structures.  In general, depth of settlement doesn’t drive whether or not foam jacking or slab jacking are effective solutions.

  • What if we wait?

Most concrete slabs will wedge against an adjacent slab or structure or come to a rest on a point of ground under them and appear from the surface to have stabilized.  However, the voids that caused the concrete to settle do not fix themselves, and the concrete remains largely unsupported.  Over time, this will result in cracking and further settlement, which can be more difficult (and more expensive) to fix.  Fixing the concrete sooner than later is recommended to preserve the integrity of your concrete.

  • Is Concrete Jack safe?

Yes; Concrete Jack is very safe.  It doesn’t take much pressure to raise concrete, and the risks of damage to the surrounding area are low, since we use reliable, well-cared-for equipment operated by our skilled technicians.

  • Does your process ever result in cracks?

Occasionally, yes.  Relatively infrequently, concrete slabs that we are working on will crack.  Nonuniform thickness of concrete is the most frequent cause of cracking, and is a result of improper initial installation of the concrete.  Concrete Jack can not control the level of quality at which your concrete was originally installed.

  • What is Concrete Jack’s BBB rating?

A member of the Better Business Bureau, Concrete Jack is rated A+.  The BBB’s report on Concrete Jack can be found here.
